The demineralised water from SEL Chemie B.V. is obtained by multiple filtering, whereby lime and minerals are removed from the water. It is pure water, but is not intended for human consumption or medical use. We offer our demineralised water in PET bottles with a capacity of 5000 ml.
Demineralised water has decisive advantages over distilled water, which we know from drugstores or petrol stations. Even the production of distilled water requires more energy and the final result is not as pure as demineralised water. This means that the conductivity and the TDS value (Total Dissolved Solids) are also significantly lower with demineralised water. Overall, the water quality of demineralised water is better than that of distilled water.
Demineralised water is used in the areas of battery and heating system filling, surface and parts cleaning, as well as glass cleaning and aquaristics. There are also some very practical applications in the household. For example, demineralised water is ideal as ironing water for irons, as it does not cause limescale, calcium or magnesium deposits on the soleplate of the iron, as would be the case with untreated drinking water. Demineralised water can also be used in the manufacture of soaps, as it increases the shelf life of the soap and contributes to good quality and lather formation. Demineralised water is also ideal for cleaning windows and glass surfaces. The high degree of purity is particularly important here, as demineralised water cleans and dries absolutely residue-free. It is no longer necessary to polish the glass surfaces!
